Where are the wisemen

Where are the Wise-men
by
Russell R Ellis

Every day and night they gazed out to see if they were out there somewhere, but no hope at all, where are the wise-men, the second gift of suffering, to bring the best gifts ever to all, the first gift was John the Baptist, delivering the message, the third was the gift of Herod, declaring Jesus a criminal, and killing the first child, of families who refused to tell, where baby Jesus was hiding, the real gifts coming from the families refusing to tell, because Herod had declared him a criminal, the fourth gift was the cross, and the last was Jesus.. All gone from sight, all missing on Christmas day, what happened to Christmas.

Well! John the Baptist, didn't want to wonder through a desert, eating nothing but Locusts, suffering from thirst. the wise-men feet hurt, so why walk that far and give expensive gifts, for what a God, Herod didn't want to kill all those children and the families didn't want there first Child killed, and the cross never was created, because; Jesus never died on the cross, why would he want to, why die for a bunch of ungrateful people, full of hate, greed, selfishness, lack of compassion and forgiveness, a bunch of sinners who, do nothing but Judge others.

There could be no Christmas without real suffering for another, giving something to others you normally would ever give, to anyone. Giving pure love, with pure compassion, understanding, and extreme forgiveness. We gave it all up, got rid of John the Baptist, the wise-men, Herod, even the cross was given up, because we wanted to be a nasty evil people, enjoying watching others suffer, to lazy to stop starvation, children being taken and even allowed to starve or thirst to death, even to uncaring to suffer a draft, to give your greatest gift.

Christmas isn't the gifts from the wise men, Its being so happy they came, with no need to ask them. It is the suffering others have to go through each day, each hour, every second, and our appreciation, that we don't have to suffer like them or anyone as much as they do or did long ago. We are thankful we are not enjoying Christmas after walking miles, from horror, in there country, getting to a border so close to freedom, and not being welcomed, by anyone with open arms, not realizing that, John the Baptist would have walked it with them and starve with them all the way to that border. Understanding it isn't something any of use would ever want to do, let alone have to do. We have Christmas to show how grateful we are to not have to suffer like so many, losing a child because we lied about telling anyone where the baby Jesus was.

Our not being one of those waiting starving, freezing in cells called Icebox's, dying just to have freedom for themselves and there babies is what Christmas is all about. That Cross was a torch-er machine, something to give as much pain continuously until the person, was dead, wasn't, something anyone would want, but many died this way, be thankful, you don't have to. But most of all, remember Jesus didn't die full of hate, wanting revenge, but ask his father to forgive them, his gift to us.  Not giving a gift to another is being like those punishing those at our border, for suffering to be free and safe, as we are, or still being the ones who requested the death of Jesus, by choosing Barabbas.

So, Christmas is walking in there shoes, for a moment in time, the least sacrifice, that we can make to be grateful that we don't have to suffer. Being that Obama Santa, all bubbly, going to hospitals and saying merry Christmas and seeing the wonderful surprise as tears well up in the eyes down the cheeks, even outright crying, being so great-full to see such a great man, willing to come and see them, knowing he was happy to be there also.

OK, OK, I think I can see the wise-men coming over the horizon, the door being opened by so many like Obama, full of bubbly love for others. But the struggle won't be easy, it was never meant to be, we cry about how hard things are, bur wipe the tears, it could be so much harder. So we all should be grateful, ready to forgive and move on, to help others still suffering. Be the gift, to brighten another's day, like Obama did this year..... Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
